The brief: To create a saint display in the primary school’s entrance area that contains the school’s house saints (St. Clare, Pope John Paul II, St. Christopher, St. Martha) as well as the Academy Saint (St. Nicholas Owen). To produce a Mission Statement display in the school hall that creates a frame for the stage and a backdrop for assemblies.
The process: Two Thirds Design were invited to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School to brainstorm the visual interpretation of the saints. The wall selected for the saint display was in a fairly narrow corridor off the main entrance area and would be next to a beautiful tile mosaic. The client ideally wanted hanging banners but the area couldn’t accommodate this solution, so we created pseudo-hanging banners with graphics and a printed canvas texture.
The end result: The school badge and mission statement was printed on UPVC banner material, weighted and suspended from ceiling.
We printed the house saints as mock banners on Rhino wallpaper and sealed with a laminate, this hardwearing material has a satin finish, which is scuff resistant.
