The brief: To create a corridor resource that reflected the needs of the pupils and represented the vision of the school.
The process: Two Thirds Design were invited to the Kingston Centre PRU to brainstorm ideas for their main school corridor that connects the entrance to the classrooms. The space was a high traffic area that was plain, tired and uninspiring.
We worked with Kingston PRU to create a resource based on the theme of personal transformation and discovery. To inspire pupils to think they have unlimited potential and a valid place in this world. Our scene used the theme of travel (and unusual forms of travel), to represent each individual’s journey.
The end result: We covered as much area as possible down both sides of the corridor with a very hard wearing, full colour bespoke printed Wallpaper, also continuing the design over 2 columns within that space to enhance the area. This solution completely transformed a dark corridor into a space to inspire the pupils and also be used as a distraction tool for teachers dealing with troubled pupils, helping them to diffuse difficult situations.
